Hotel reviews for Marina Folch

this hotel was brilliant altho on some reviews it says about the surrounding streets being run down we were not put off at all the hotel is in a superb spot for all areas 5 mins walk from all the resturants and night clubs in the olympic port
the rooms are gorgeous and as we got a late deal it was such a good deal the staff there are so helpful and friendly. we had a day in the spa and indoor pool and it was heaven altho was 12.50 euros a day it was well worth it. the outdoor pool was lovely altho only 3 ft deep and if the sun is out there is a bit of a scramble for the sunbeds!! its very relaxing up there tho with all the views to look at, also the outdoor pool bar was only open at funny times and not at all one day we were gasping for an ice cream!! the breakfast was the most amazing one ive ever had they had everything you can imagine and as much as you want even champagne and strawberries! cooked english, continental with cheeses and meats crossiants boiled eggs and much much more! well worth the 15 euros
in general the hotel staff spoke very good english but when you step foot out of the hotel you will need youre phrase book! the taxi drivers are hard to talk to so take the hotel card to get back to it again!
there is a tour bus that we were very impressed with you can hop on and off all day as much as you want to and they speak good english too better than getting taxis!! mind you if there is a paticular spot you want to see eg the cathedral then you will need to get off the bus and get on the next one at that stop because on the bus you only have a few seconds to see it as they drive past the blue tour is the best route round the old port etc.
for drinks in the evening the hotel is very reasonable and the port resturants are good prices too however the night clubs/disco tecs are very expencive it was 18 euros for 2 vodka and cokes they do have male and female pole dancers in one place though hehe
